Purchasing Conditions

Barlows Electrical Purchasing Conditions

Please read the purchasing conditions below before making a purchase.

Payment

  • Your payment will be taken before the item is dispatched to you. If the item is being ordered specifically for you from our supplier, payment will be taken before the item is ordered as a security measure.
  • When payment has been taken, you will receive a personal confirmation email with an estimated delivery day/date. Please keep checking your emails so if we are trying to contact you, you get the message.
  • We understand that sometimes problems occur between cards and the card issuers - if we experience any issue with your card, your order won't be dispatched until the issue has been rectified. We will either email or call you, so please be aware.

Cancelling an order

  • If you wish to cancel your order please contact us ASAP. If the order has not been processed we can cancel your order with immediate effect - however it is slightly more difficult if the item has already been dispatched.
  • The payment almost always won't have been taken without dispatching the item the same day. On the rare occasion where we may have taken payment before dispatching the items and the order needs to be cancelled, a full refund including the £4.95 shipping fee will be provided.
  • If you need to cancel your order after it has been dispatched, you will receive a refund for the product when we receive it back. Please bear in mind you will not receive the £4.95 shipping cost back, and unfortunately will not receive the amount it cost you to return the item. You will not receive a refund for the item until we receive it back.
  • Please note this does not apply to faulty goods.
  • As a retailer we reserve the right to refuse a refund on an item which has been returned in damaged packaging or has not been returned in a fully resaleable condition. Alternatively we can deduct up to 20% of the original selling price from the refund amount. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Returns

  • To return a product please notify us as soon as possible, however it must be within 7 days of delivery of the item.
  • We use the £4.95 shipping fee to initially send the item to you - therefore the £4.95 will not be refunded once it has been dispatched.
  • We are happy to refund or exchange a product providing it is in fully resaleable condition. The product should be returned within 28 days and in original, undamaged packaging. If it is not returned in fully resaleable condition or the packaging is damaged, we reserve the right to refuse a refund on the item, or deduct up to 20% of the original selling price from the refund amount. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Products we can't refund/exchange

  • Unless faulty we are unable to refund/exchange the following items for reasons of hygiene, safety and copyright:
    Personal grooming products
    CD/DVD/tapes or other recording media if the seal is broken

Faulty/damaged items

  • Faulty/damaged items need to be reported to us as soon as possible - any damaged items will not be accepted if not reported within 7 days of delivery
  • For faulty items please call us on 01948 818110 and we will advise on the next step.
