Installation Guide

 

We offer an installation service to all the postcode areas we deliver too. You can enter your postcode on the checkout page to see if these services are available to you. If they are not please contact us as this may still be available.

Installation Services We Offer:

Our installation service for electrical and gas products is handled by our own fully qualified engineers. This means that it’s not just someone who will ‘connect’ your new appliance. All our team are fully qualified in their field. Our electricians are NICEIC approved and our gas engineers are GAS SAFE registered (We have both domestic and commercial GAS SAFE approved engineers and we fit natural gas and LPG products). Many of our engineers have been trained through the company by our accredited training centre. This means if an engineer encounters a small problem when connecting your new appliance he or she can handle the situation and get it resolved quickly instead of leaving you to find your own qualified installer to rectify the problem like our competitors sometimes do. The engineers do a full test to make sure your home is conforming to current regulations. This service means we will inform you of any problems or changes that are recommended to bring your home to a safe standard. Freestanding Appliances

 Freestanding Refrigeration, Including Undercounter larders, fridges & Fridge Freezers (up to 70cm Wide, 2M Tall) - Free of Charge  (Please note that this service is only available when replacing a like for like appliance)

As part of this service we will:

  • Disconnect and remove the old appliance
  • Unpack your new product, remove and dispose of the packaging
  • Connect the new appliance to existing electric supply
  • Level and fit neatly in the space
  • Test your appliance

Before ordering installation, you should ensure that:

  • Your appliance will fit into the existing space
  • There is easy access to the existing electricity supply
  • The electricity supply within 1m of where the appliance is being fitted

What we do not do.

  • Make any alterations to existing electrical connections.
  • Connect the appliance if it puts the fitter or customer at risk.
  • Connect the appliance if it does not meet safety guidelines

Freestanding Laundry including Washing Machines, Washer Dryers & Dishwashers £25 Including VAT, Tumble Dryers Free of Charge - Please note that this service is only available when replacing a like for like appliance.

As part of this service we will:

  • Disconnect and remove the old appliance
  • Unpack your new product, remove and dispose of the packaging
  • Connect the new appliance to existing pipework or electric supply
  • Level and fit neatly in the space
  • Test your appliance

Before ordering installation, you should ensure that:

  • Your appliance will fit into the existing space
  • There is easy access to the existing pipework
  • Your stop valves are working correctly (For connection of any wet appliance)
  • Uninterrupted access to pipework from where the appliance is sited
  • There is a electricity supply within 1m of where the appliance is being fitted

What we do not do.

  • Make any alterations to existing plumbing or electrical connections.
  • Connect the appliance if it puts the fitter or customer at risk.
  • Plumb two waste pipes into one waste connection
  • Connect the appliance if it does not meet safety guidelines

Freestanding Cookers, Including Range Cookers- range cookers may be charged higher than standard cookers. Pricing varies dependent upon what the engineer needs to change / alter once he has seen what work needs to be done to bring it up to current regulations.

Electric, Natural Gas & LPG Cookers – Varied rate based on work carried out & invoiced by Barlows UK LTD seperatly.

As part of this service we will:

  • Unpack your new product, remove and dispose of the packaging
  • Connect the new appliance to existing pipe work or electric supply
  • Level and fit neatly in the space
  • Test your appliance

Before ordering installation, you should ensure that:

  • Your appliance will fit into the existing space
  • There is easy access to the existing pipework

What we do not do.

  • Make any alterations to existing electrical connections.
  • Connect the appliance if it puts the fitter or customer at risk.
  • Connect the appliance if it does not meet safety guidelines

American Style Refrigeration £35 Including VAT - Available on all, Freestanding American refrigeration, French door refrigeration and fridge freezers with a width over 60cm. If this is a new installation both the water supply and power socket must be within 1 meter of where the appliance will be fitted

As part of this service we will:

  • Disconnect the old appliance
  • Check that there is sufficient plumbing and electric
  • Unpack your new product, remove and dispose of the packaging
  • Remove the doors and re-fit for restricted access.
  • Connect the new appliance to existing pipework or electric supply
  • Level and fit neatly in the space

Before ordering installation, you should ensure that:

  • Your appliance will fit into the existing space
  • There is easy access to the existing pipework
  • Your stop valves are working correctly (For connection of any wet appliance)
  • There is sufficient access to the space required

What we do not do.

  • Make any alterations to existing plumbing or electrical connections.
  • Connect the appliance if it puts the fitter or customer at risk.
  • Alter any part of the customer’s property to gain access.
  • Connect the appliance if it does not meet safety guidelines

Television Installation on table top stand - £25 Including VAT, Wall Mounted Installation –Varied rate based on work carried out & invoiced by Barlows UK LTD seperatly.

As part of this service we will:

  • Disconnect the old product
  • Unpack your new product, remove and dispose of the packaging
  • Fit the stand to the TV (if Required)
  • Connect the new product using existing cables
  • Tune in and set up (We will connect your broadband to the TV using its wireless connection and set up Smart features if advanced setup is selected)

Before ordering installation, you should ensure that:

  • Your appliance will fit onto existing stand or wall bracket
  • There is easy access to the cables
  • There is sufficient access to the space required

What we do not do.

  • Make any alterations to existing electrical connections.
  • Connect the appliance if it puts the fitter or customer at risk.
  • Alter any part of the customer’s property to gain access.
  • Connect the appliance if it does not meet safety guidelines

Freestanding Microwaves and Fires Free of Charge unpacking and plug-in service

As part of this service we will:

  • Disconnect and remove the old appliance
  • Unpack your new product, remove and dispose of the packaging
  • Connect the new appliance to existing electric supply
  • Level and fit neatly in the space
  • Test your appliance

Before ordering installation, you should ensure that:

  • Your appliance will fit into the existing space
  • There is easy access to the existing electricity supply
  • The electricity supply within 1m of where the appliance is being fitted

What we do not do.

  • Make any alterations to existing electrical connections.
  • Connect the appliance if it puts the fitter or customer at risk.
  • Connect the appliance if it does not meet safety guidelines

Built-in (Integrated) Products

Built in Ovens, Hob, Microwaves & Hoods in Electric, Natural Gas & LPG - Varied rate based on work carried out & invoiced by Barlows UK LTD seperatly.

As part of this service, we will:

  • Unpack your new product, remove and dispose of the packaging
  • Remove the plinths and panel door of your old appliance
  • Connect the new appliance to existing electric supply
  • Do any basic carpentry work required (e.g. drilling holes, cutting work top for a bigger hob)
  • Level and fit neatly in the space
  • Fit the existing panel door to the new appliance

Before ordering installation, you should ensure that:

  • Your appliance will fit into the existing housing
  • There is easy access to the existing pipework & electrical connection

What we do not do.

  • Make any alterations to existing electrical connections.
  • Connect the appliance if it puts the fitter or customer at risk.
  • Connect the appliance if it does not meet safety guidelines
  • Make any alterations to stone and granite worktops

Built-in and Integrated Appliances- Available on integrated and built-in appliances: washing machines, dishwashers, washer dryers, tumble dryers and all refrigeration. (Available for like for like replacements)

* Before choosing this installation service please make sure you have checked the product matches like for like with what you currently own. Built-in refrigeration have either fixed metal hinges or plastic sliders. If you do not choose correctly the engineer may be unable to install your appliance and these are specific to your current installation and are not always interchangeable. 

Integrated and Built-in appliance –Varied rate based on work carried out & invoiced by Barlows UK LTD seperatly.

As part of this service, we will:

  • Unpack your new product, remove and dispose of the packaging
  • Remove the plinths and panel door of your old appliance
  • Connect the new appliance to existing pipework or electric supply

  • Level and fit neatly in the space
  • Fit the existing panel door to the new appliance

  • Your appliance will fit into the existing housing
  • There is easy access to the existing pipework & electrical connection
  • Your stop valves are working correctly (For connection of any wet appliance)
  • There is sufficient access for ventilation tubes (tumble dryers)

What we do not do.

  • Make any alterations to existing plumbing or electrical connections.
  • Connect the appliance if it puts the fitter or customer at risk.
  • Connect the appliance if it does not meet safety guidelines
